Heart of the Serpent is the 30th mission in the Japanese version of Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere and the second mission in the General Resource (II) arc.
Briefing
Emergency!!! Megafloat has been destroyed by Ouroboros. Not only that... it was done by just one fighter. The aircraft in question,called "Night Raven", then returned to the Sphyrna, the backbone of Ouroboros. We believe they may be preparing a second attack, and that they're getting their equipment ready. We have no more time to spare. Sortie immediately, and attack the Sphyrna!
Objectives
The mission's first objective is to shoot down the Sphyrna. There are several escorts, but destroying them is optional. Once the Sphyrna is destroyed, the player receives a new objective to shoot down the Night Raven.
The player's actions will determine the next mission. If sufficient damage is done to the Night Raven within three minutes of its appearance, Geofront Attack will be the next mission; otherwise, Casualties of War will be the next mission.

A-Rank
Obtaining an A-Rank requires destroying 8+ enemies and doing sufficient damage to the Night Raven. If sufficient damage cannot be done to the Night Raven within three minutes of its appearance, the player will receive a D-Rank.
