Broken Truce is the fifth mission of the original Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere and is the first mission in the UPEO (II) Arc.

Description

"SARF members received a confidential message from Commander Park. Yesterday's ceasefire agreement had been broken, and General Resource forces were already launching an attack against Neucom. In order to avoid further engagements between the two sides, the SARF members sortied for the NEU airbase."
Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere - Namco Official Guide Book

Briefing

In spite of the ceasefire, General Resource forces have commenced an attack against a Neucom air base. In order to maintain the ceasefire, clashes between them must be avoided at all costs. Defend the Neucom air base.

Objectives

The mission's primary targets are four F-15S/MTs, mixed in with four F-16XAs. The player must destroy these fighters while defending the Neucom air base and their parked R-201s. Abyssal Dision and Keith Bryan are present, flying a F-22C Raptor II and a F-16XA respectively, but cannot be targeted and will not interfere.

If the player destroys the four F-15S/MTs within 2 minutes and 59 seconds, a pair of B-1C Lancer IIs will spawn, with three F-16XAs as escorts. Shooting down the B-1Cs ends the mission and awards Mission Accomplished.

If the player destroys the four F-15S/MTs after 2 minutes and 59 seconds have passed, the mission ends and the player earns Mission Over, restricting them to a D Rank.[1]
