F-16XA Sakerfalcon

From Ace Combat Wiki

The F-16XA Sakerfalcon is an advanced variant of the F-16 Fighting Falcon developed by General Resource around the 2040s, as an attacker counterpart to the F-16XF fighter.

Description

The F-16XA is a dedicated ground attack variant of the F-16XF, featuring the F-16XL's large cranked-arrow delta wings instead of the F-16's normal wings in order to create more stability for low-speed, low-flying ground attack runs. [1] Like the F-16XF, it has a new, more powerful engine and a reengineered airframe, however; it does not have canards on the air intake like the F-16XF. These are likely to be unnecessary since the F-16XA is designed with greater emphasis on stability over maneuverability.

Like the fighter variant, it has an opaque COFFIN-augmented cockpit.

Its specifications are as follows:[1]

  • Length: 16.51 m (54.2 ft)
  • Width: 10.43 m (34.2 ft)
  • Height: 5.36 m (17.6 ft)
  • Weight: 15,772 kg (34,771 lb)
  • Top speed:
    • Japanese version: 3,304 km/h (Mach 2.7; 2,053 mph; 1,784 kn)
    • International version: 3,979 km/h (Mach 3.2; 2,472 mph; 2,148 kn)
  • Armor: Light

History

Strangereal

The F-16XA was developed by General Resource sometime before the Intercorporate War of 2040. During the war, the F-16XA was used by ace pilot Keith Bryan along with an F-16XF, during the early stages of the war. It was available to Nemo alongside the F-15S/MT Eagle+ during its time in the GRDF, however it was eventually replaced by newer aircraft, namely the F-22C Raptor II and the F/A-32C Erne.[2]

Game Analysis

Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere

"An air-defense/ground attack fighter developed by the secret military organization "General Resource Dynamics." Based on the F-16, it is an upgraded version with a focus on ground attack. It features no empennage and has a "cranked arrow" wing allowing for good control of the large fuselage. It has a good top speed, but is inferior in quick turns and maneuvers."
