The XFA-36A Game is a fighter aircraft manufactured by General Resource Limited. It is their most advanced combat plane and was deployed only in extreme situations.

Description[edit]

The XFA-36A appears to be based on the McDonnell Douglas X-36 concept aircraft. It sports a tailless delta wing configuration with near-vertical wingtips and 3D thrust vectoring to compensate for the lack of vertical stabilizers. With regards to thrust vectoring, its engines have separate vectoring vanes. As the plane exceeds Mach 1, its wingtips hinge downwards and pivot to maintain maneuverability and stability.

Its specifications are as follows:[1]

  • Length: 19.51 m (64.0 ft)
  • Width: 13.2 m (43 ft)
  • Height: 2.8 m (9 ft 2 in)
  • Weight: 32,116 kg (70,804 lb)
  • Top speed:
    • Japanese version: 3,304 km/h (Mach 2.7; 2,053 mph; 1,784 kn)
    • International version: 3,802 km/h (Mach 3.1; 2,362 mph; 2,053 kn)
  • Armor: Normal

History[edit]

The XFA-36A is first deployed by the General Resource Defense Force in mid-2040 just before major GR operations begin. It was an XFA-36A which took part in the famous "Operation: Hit and Run" [citation needed] and led the GRDF attack on Port Edwards. Keith Bryan, a General ace, also flew one during the later stages of the war.

The terrorist group Ouroboros began to use this fighter after frames were acquired from defecting GRDF pilots. They were deployed sporadically during their operations, but were seen in full force during the attack on Megafloat.

Game Analysis[edit]

Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere[edit]

"A tail-less advanced fighter produced by General Resource that brought a huge leap in fighting capability. It was produced with research data from the high mobility stealth experimental craft. The 3-dimensional vectored thrust nozzles, a General Resource special technology, exhibit maneuverability superior to any Neucom craft. Additionally, in response to various airspeeds, the main wingtips fold automatically to the optimal angle giving the craft high stability."
