Valahia
Romania
- "We are prepared to sacrifice everything to establish a nation of our own. The nuclear warheads and ICBMs now under our control should be more than enough to prove our resolve. It is with great pleasure that I declare the creation of our new nation by our own hands! Dissidents will be consumed by flame, as we march toward the birth of a nation!"
- ― Nicolae Dumitrescu[1]
The Valahia was a militant terrorist organization based in eastern Europe, which launched various attacks under the orders of European businessman Andre Olivieri as part of the Golden Axe Plan. They were led by Nicolae Dumitrescu, who intended to form a new nation in the name of communism.
Etymology
The name "Valahia" is the Romanian spelling of Wallachia, a historical and geographical region of Romania. However, this name was only infrequently used; Romanians of the time typically referred to their country as "Țara Românească" (Romanian Land), with "Wallachia" being a exonym.
History
Global insurgency
The Valahia was formed at some point after the fall of the Soviet Union—likely by soldiers from former Eastern Bloc countries—under the direction of Nicolae Dumitrescu. After the global recession in the late 2000s, they were hired by Andre Olivieri to attack various cities throughout the world to make profits from private war damage insurance.
In late 2010, they revealed themselves to the world with a series of attacks on Tokyo with Spiridus and Orgoi aircraft provided by Olivieri.[2] The incidents led to the formation of the International Union Peacekeeping Force (IUPF), which launched a campaign across Europe, the Middle East and Asia to defeat the organization, an effort assisted by a private military company, Martinez Security.
Martinez's forces dismantled Valahia's operations in various countries, including Croatia and Turkey, some of which led to the loss of Mora Jamming Station in the Turkish Mountains.[3] The organization later responded by launching an aerial attack on London, which ended in the destruction of the Spiridus.[4] After the operation, the Valahia gained control of multiple nuclear warheads and intercontinental ballistic missiles. With these weapons, Valahia finally had the means to destroy the Western world and establish their dream of a communist utopia, making their partnership with Olivieri no longer of use. Thus, they betrayed Olivieri.[1]
Downfall
Antares Squadron carved their way across Europe, destroying a Balaur railgun in Romania in the process.[5] They assaulted the Valahia's main base, an old USSR nuclear missile silo, and challenged Varcolac Squadron for third time. The battle ended with Antares claiming victory, but Varcolac's members managed to safely eject. With little time to stop the nuclear launch, Frederick Burford ordered Antares to fly into the underground silo and destroy the structure from the inside. The underground silo was destroyed by the massive explosion, killing Dumitrescu and crippling the Valahia.[6]
The surviving Valahia militants joined up with the Golden Axe Plan Private Army under Olivieri, ironically re-entering the service of the man they had betrayed.[7]
