From Ace Combat Wiki

"I never thought such a large plane could be so useless. What a piece of crap."
Estovakian pilot[1]

The B-52H Stratofortress is a large strategic bomber which has appeared in numerous Ace Combat titles. First appearing in Air Combat, the B-52 became a staple aircraft throughout its many appearances.

History

Strangereal

The B-52 was the primary bomber craft of a large number of nations. Belka used these in the opening stages of the Belkan War alongside their domestically designed BM-335 Lindwurm.[2]

During the Skully Islands insurrection, rebel forces utilized the bomber on occasion.[citation needed] The Usean Rebel Forces acquired several during their uprising and attempted to use them to destroy the headquarters of the Usean Allied Forces.[citation needed]

During the 2006 Free Erusea uprising, several B-52s were stolen by Free Erusea; all were shot down by Mobius 1.[3]

During the Circum-Pacific War, both Osea and Yuktobania used the B-52, both sides simultaneously deploying theirs during combat in the Jilachi Desert.[4]

In 2014, B-52s of the IUN-PKF's Gray Moth Squadron came under attack from Free Erusean aircraft and were forced make emergency landings at a Peacekeeping Force base in Scofields Plateau.[5]

In 2015, the Estovakian Air Force used multiple B-52s during the Invasion of Gracemeria[6] and the subsequent attempts to eliminate the Emmerian military on Khesed Island.[7] The Emmerian Air Force's Hammerhead and Stork bomber units also flew B-52s, playing key roles in battles at San Loma[8] and the Moloch Desert.[1] During the assault on the Chandelier, Emmeria deployed multiple B-52s as reinforcements.[9]

During the Lighthouse War in 2019, the Erusean Air Force had multiple B-52s stationed at its airbase in Cape Rainy; all the B-52s were destroyed by Strider Squadron during Operation Werewolf.[10] During the war, Erusea sparingly used the aircraft and instead utilized Tu-95s and Tu-160s for the majority of its air raids.[11][12]

Trivia

  • The B-52H Statofortress lacks tail cannons, but apparently the ones in Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation regained their tail cannons in difficulties of Hard and above. However, they rarely hit if the player keeps doing lateral/frontal, high speed passes on it.
