Great Migration
"Great Migration" was the second campaign mission of Ace Combat Infinity. The player was introduced to Viper and tasked with destroying an enemy transport unit and its escorts.
Objectives
When the mission started, the player was unable to lock onto the enemy aircraft or destroy them, though it was still possible to fire weapons unguided and reduce their health to almost-zero. After Goodfellow confirmed the craft were hostile, lock-on was re-enabled and the enemy aircraft could be shot down. All enemies were marked as TGT and the player's allies also engaged the enemy aircraft.
The initial set of enemies was one transport and two escorts. Once any aircraft was shot down, another escort spawned further ahead and fired a missile at the player, introducing the player to the concept of evading enemy fire.
After all three escorts were shot down, two more transports and more escorts spawned. While the player engaged this set of enemies, Goodfellow and Omega introduced the player to the Tactical Datalink gameplay system. After all of these enemies were shot down, Omega and Viper bantered about their aircraft and what they spent their money on: Viper on customizing his one aircraft, and Omega on buying new aircraft due to getting shot down so often. While not stated outright, this was implied to nudge the player towards the Aircraft Tree where they could spend their credits on new aircraft or customization parts.
After Omega and Viper's discussion ended, a final wave of escorts spawned. During this wave, the player's allies fought more aggressively and were capable of shooting down the majority of the enemy aircraft if the player wasn't quick enough. Once all of these escorts were shot down, the mission was completed.

S Rank
An S Rank on this mission required completing it in under five minutes. The timer did not pause for the dialogue at the start, middle, or end of the mission, meaning the player effectively had less than three minutes to shoot down all aircraft.
