Biography

On September 3, 1999, Grendel 1 was trained by General Rasmussen. Following his training, he was assigned to the black operations unit, Grendel Squadron.[1]

On August 3, 2000, Grendel 1 was deployed to protect the helicopter transporting the IUN General Assembly Commissioner to inspect Ulysses 1994XF04 refugee camps along the Erusean border. During the escort, Federal Erusean Air Force squadrons attempted to shoot down the helicopter, but Grendel 1 successfully defended it. That night, a number of flights transporting Ulysses refugees to Nordennavic came under attack by Erusean aircraft. However, Grendel 1 protected the refugees.[1]

October 10, 2004, Grendel 1 aided the ISAF Air Force destroy the Northern Eye radar stations atop Mount Shezna during the Continental War.[1]

On October 22, 2010, while Wardog Squadron was conducting a secret operation, Grendel Squadron was deployed alongside his squadron to defend Sand Island from a Yuktobanian landing force.[1]

On December 19, 2010, after Nordennavian Intelligence discovered that the Grey Men orchestrated the Circum-Pacific War, Grendel Squadron was deployed to assist the Razgriz Squadron in destroying the Arkbird before it could crash into the Osean capital of Oured.[1]

On January 15, 2013, after Nordennavic determined that the Lyes United Front was more of a threat to Nordennavic's neutrality than the Eastern Faction, Grendel 1 was deployed alongside his squadron to assist the Eastern Faction repell a large-scale offensive.[1] Ultimately, the Eastern Faction was able to repell the attack and the LUF lost 80% of its territory within the following week.[2]

On August 30, 2015, Estovakia launched a surprise attack on the Emmerian capital of Gracemeria. Nordennavic, feeling responsible for causing this conflict due to their support of the Eastern Faction during the Estovakian Civil War, deployed Grendel Squadron to Gracemeria to assist the Emmerian forces.[1] Despite initially repelling the Estovakian forces, the P-1112 Aigaion forced Emmeria to retreat west.[3]

On March 31, 2016, Emmerian forces recaptured Gracemeria[4] and later defended the city from a cruise missile attack.[5] Emmerian intelligence then tracked the origin of the missiles to the Razgriz Straits and deployed squadrons to the straits the following morning.[5] However, the Estovakian forces opposing peace talks with Emmeria stationed the Giant Antlion defense system on Sonne Island to defend the Chandelier cruise missile system.[1]

On April 1, Grendel 1 was provided with an experimental Arvakr V-50 to destroy the Giant Antlion. Ultimately, Grendel 1 succeeded in destroying the defense system,[1] allowing Talisman to destroy the Chandelier.[6] After Grendel 1 returned to Nordennavic, General Rasmussen presented the pilot with the Star of Valor for his "distinguished service in the defense of the Kingdom of Nordennavic and for unwavering courage in combat".[1]
