Cynthia Bridgitte Fitzgerald is a major character in the Japanese version of Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere. She is a Neucom fighter pilot, being the head of the Neucom Emergency Unit and the organization's only ace.

Biography

Early life

The daughter of a wealthy Usean family, she was raised in a conservative background along with her sister Fiona, adopting an elitist and professional view of life, compared to the carefree attitude of her sibling. In 2033, at just 21 years old, she completed Chopinburg University's graduate program in genetic engineering and joined General Resource.[3] After four years, she transferred to Neucom as a scientist, becoming a chief consultant in the Neucom Emergency Unit and one of the leading researchers of the R-series of aircraft, operating under the TAC name "Priest".[2]

Intercorporate War

During the Intercorporate War simulation, if Nemo transfers to Neucom during "Scylla and Charybdis", Fiona will introduce them to Cynthia. Cynthia becomes Nemo's commanding officer in the Neucom Emergency Unit.

Cynthia is an advocate of sublimation and defects to Ouroboros after a Neucom raid on a General Resource air base. When the UI-4053 Sphyrna enters the combat zone, Cynthia takes the opportunity to follow her dreams. This is much to her sister's distress, who remains with Neucom.[4]

If Nemo remains with Fiona, Cynthia's human fate depends on the player. If the player heavily damages the UI-4053 at the end of "Resistance", Nemo must shoot down Cynthia's aircraft in the following mission.[5] Regardless if this happens or not, Cynthia's sublimated mind in the Electrosphere sends a message to Fiona stating that thanks to her destroying her body, she was finally able to achieve her dream of getting sublimated, and states that the electrosphere "truly is wonderful".[6]

If Nemo joins Cynthia and defects to Ouroboros, the pair will discover that they were being used and Cynthia will not attempt sublimation. Instead, they will double-cross Ouroboros, manage to destroy the Sphyrna along with Dision, then finally defeat Rena thanks to Simon's intervention. However, when Cynthia asks Nemo where he is taking them after having been told to return to Neucom by Simon, he does not respond, leaving her question hanging.[7]
