The Guided Penetration Bomb (GPB) is a special weapon in the Ace Combat series. The bomb is designed for a guaranteed destruction of important heavily defended targets at medium range. This is the most powerful weapon from air-to-ground weapons intended for destruction of single targets. Once dropped, this bomb glides toward a target with a lock-on. It has a small radius of explosion, but inflicts heavy damage.

Game Analysis

Ace Combat Infinity

GPB Infinity Icon.gif
"A dropped bomb that has homing capabilities toward ground targets. As it is designed to penetrate hard targets and blow them up from the inside, the damage is limited to the point of impact. However, it allows for extremely high powered pinpoint bombing."

Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation

"Although it has a small blast radius, the GPB represents one of the most lethal anti-personnel ordinances available. It is indispensable against particularly heavily fortified ground targets. Known as a "Smart Bomb", the GPB utilises GPS and laser guidance to home in on its target. It is employed primarily against enemy facilities and fortifications, first piercing their outer barrier then detonating, destroying them from the inside."
