The Machine Gun Pod (MGP), also known as the Gun Pod (GPD) in Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy, is an unguided special weapon which first appears in Ace Combat: Assault Horizon.
The Machine Gun Pod is most effective at close range, and it can deal considerable damage when fired simultaneously with the standard Machine Gun. In Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, Ace Combat: Assault Horizon and Ace Combat Infinity, the special weapon continues firing as long as the firing button is pressed. In Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy, the weapon fires a fixed burst for a short period of time, similar to the Rocket Launcher.
