A6M5 ZERO

From Ace Combat Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

The A6M5 ZERO (A6M5 Type Zero Carrier Fighter in previous games) is a popular Piston Fighter aircraft in the Ace Combat series. A unique aircraft due to its antique nature, the A6M5 cannot reach high speeds or equip missiles. However, it is highly agile and stable, allowing it to make tight maneuvers and excel in air-to-air combat.

The A6M5 has appeared alongside the F6F-5 Hellcat in the latest handheld Ace Combat games. In 2015, it made its first console appearance in Ace Combat Infinity.

Trivia

  • In Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy, the A6M5 is the only aircraft not to display Phoenix's emblem; instead, it displays the Imperial Japanese Navy roundel.
  • In Ace Combat: Joint Assault and Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy, since all aircraft guns deal the same or similar damage with the same rate of fire on every gun, the F6F-5 and A6M5 can actually deal more damage per second since the two aircraft have six and four guns installed on the respective aircraft.
