United Galaxy Space Force (銀河連邦宇宙軍 Ginga Renpō Uchū-gun, shortened UGSF) is a video game series created by Namco Bandai in 2011 by retconning and merging many of the hitherto unrelated futuristic games they previously developed into a single continuity.
The Ace Combat series is included in UGSF via Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere, which is the chronologically earliest installment of UGSF. However, the larger Strangereal continuity is not canonical to UGSF, and the two universes are otherwise unrelated.[note 1]
The series is apparently named after the United Galaxy Space Force, an organization featured in the 1979 arcade game Galaxian by then-Namco.
