Fredi Starke
Operation Round Hammer
Fredi Starke[note 1] was a Belkan Air Force pilot and Academy honors graduate, the older sibling of fellow pilot Monika, both grandchildren of BAF top ace Jonas. He flew as Gabel Squadron's number two.
Biography
Fredi Starke was born in Belka in 1965. His sister Monika was born three years later. Both Starkes followed in their grandfather's footsteps by enrolling in the Belkan Air Force Academy and enlisting right after graduation, being assigned to separate units; Monika was independent while Fredi became number two of Gabel Squadron. Both siblings garnered much praise with their career achievements.
During the Belkan War, the Starkes were tasked with defending the Futuro Canal's northern coastline, Monika with the ground installations and Fredi the Belkan Navy fleet. On April 24, 1995, the Allied Forces launched Operation Round Hammer, the second phase of Offensive Campaign No. 4101, and sanitized all Belkan elements in the combat zone. The Starkes, along with Gabel flight lead Heiko Reck,[3] were downed and killed in an unsuccessful defense.[2][1]
