Character

Destroy Production Site is the sixth mission of Air Combat. Loyalist high command has confirmed that the coup d'état movement is in command of important resources such as minerals. Thus, they have decided to concentrate their efforts on targeting vital enemy infrastructure. The player's mission is to locate and raze a hostile mining plant.

Briefing

The enemy has proved to have significant resources. This war of attrition is not to our advantage. We are now targeting key infrastructure sites. Target: Resources mining system and production plant. Intelligence reports stealth fighters operating in this theater. Remember, their lack of radar signature makes visual sighting essential. Good luck!

Objectives

Subsequent information is taken from both Ace Combat: Winning Strategy and Ace Combat: Perfect Guide.[1][2]

You are now to halt insurrectionist weapons production by destroying mining facilities and associated ground bases. The area is heavily defended from bottom to top. Choose one with high payload and durability; the TNDF-2 and A-10 suit, offering strong ground-attack capabilities. The F-15 provides a multirole option. Hiring a wingman is recommended, especially if the player intends to concentrate on striking ground targets.

The mission begins with the southern mining site. Attack the mine buildings and surrounding excavators with missiles. During the assault, enemy fighters will need the player to balance offense and defense. Caution is advised when striking excavators to avoid accidental crashing. Both additional mines follow a similar strategy.

Stealth fighters must be anticipated; observe the eyes for any sign of F-117s at midrange, and watch out for the Su-27, the only in-game jet capable of the Cobra. If caught behind one, disengage quickly to avoid a counterattack. And the F-16 is no scoff either, with its nimble size.

AA coverage here is particularly dense, especially on Hard difficulty, with the SAM barrages. Either take out all defenses or sort out the mines fast in hit-and-runs. This approach is Hard essentials; durable aircraft are encouraged to clear all AA assets for higher completion rewards.
