About Ace Combat
Ace Combat is a franchise of arcade flight shooting video games published by Bandai Namco and developed by Project Aces, an internal Bandai Namco studio. Running for 29 years, the Ace Combat games typically have players take control of real aircraft in fictional conflicts to defeat enemy forces and become a legendary ace pilot. Ace Combat is well-regarded for the games' anime-style storylines, massive superweapon battles, and varied soundtracks. The games have sold a combined total of 20 million copies worldwide.
Most Ace Combat games take place in a fictional universe known as Strangereal, loosely based on the real world but with different countries, original aircraft, and fictional events, including a major asteroid impact that acts as a backdrop for later conflicts.
The latest Ace Combat game is Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Steam. The next Ace Combat game is in development, but few details are currently available.
