Every time I play Mission 11 in Ace Combat 7, I always have a maxed-out EML for efficiency's sake. Usually I stick with the Strike Wyvern (with the glowing skin of course) for its manouverbility, but the F/A-18F and CFA-44 are also good choices because of their other special weapons. Haven't tried the Su-33 yet, might do it some day.

List of naval enemy types (and how to down them)

Vessel type How to sink* **

Aircraft carrier 2 EMLs + 2 missiles

*This works best when you lock on to the ship itself, instead of its armaments, e.g., when you are targeting the Aegis vessel, don't just lock on to CIWS, but to Aegis instead.

**When I say EML i mean the maxed-out EML that you find on the Wyvern, Hornet and Flanker. Those on the Nosferatu should yleld different results.

Routine

This is the routine I follow every time I play this mission. Not saying it's the best routine, but it sure is the most fun.

Step 1: Clearing out the Njord Fleet

  1. Fly northeast towards the fleet.
  2. Fire an EML shot on at the southwestern Aegis ship. Don't fly too fast, give some time for your launcher to recharge.
  3. When the carrier is within range, fire another slug at it. Again, don't fly too fast.
  4. Fire two missiles at the SW Aegis at point-blank range (which makes its CIWS useless).
  5. If you played your cards right, your EML should be ready. Fire another slug at the carrier. Two Su-33s should be airborne at this point, but ignore them for now.
  6. Quickly select 'Aircraft Carrier' as your target and fire two missiles. This should sink the carrier.
  7. Continue flying northeast and lock on to the other Aegis. Again, give your EML time to recharge.
  8. Fire a slug and two missiles at the Aegis, sinking it, then fly south. Don't sink the frigate yet, make it watch. >:)
  9. Sink the destroyer in front of you with your EML. It should go down with one shot.
  10. Fly southwest towards the cruiser and fire your railgun at it. When it's in missile range, sink it with two.
  11. Now turn around and fly north/northwest towards the destroyer. Again, it should go down in one EML shot.
  12. Now that the frigate had spent the past 1.5 minutes watching its allies downed by a single aircraft, end its misery.
  13. Clear out the remaining 2 Su-33s and other Apaches. Leave no survivors.

Step 2: Taking down the sea supply base

  1. After eliminating the Njord fleet singlehandedly, fly north towards the supply base. EML the destroyer on the way too, you deserve a treat.
  2. Approach the base from the East. When you're near it your EML should be ready.
  3. Once you feel that you're ready, aim your railgun at the first core and fire. Don't allow any of the fighters to take off.
  4. Fly through the base and shoot down every core on the way. You'll want to fly slowly to give your missiles time to reload. Alternating between your SPW and missiles is also a good idea.
  5. If you've somehow missed one or two platforms, don't worry. Just go around and eliminate any remaining fighters.
  6. If you've played your cards right (again) CHASSEUR should spawn around 10000m away from you. Since he always flies directly towards you, EML him before he even gets close.
  7. Now fly west, find IBIS and kill him.
  8. Fly back towards the base and take down the remaining platforms. Take down any ship (that is unfortunate enough to be) in your way if you're still feeling bloodthirsty. Who am I kidding, of course you are.

Step 3: Eliminating the valley base

  1. Once the base is reduced to rubbles, head towards the valley. Again, clear out the ships in your way if you want to.
  2. Approach the base from the mouth of the valley (what, I'm not good with words).
  3. When you're around 9km away from it, snipe as many cores as you can with your EML. It's hard, but definitely doable.
  4. Take down all the cores. Utilize both your EML and missiles.
  5. Tell Long Caster what toppings you want on your pizza. Don't wait until you're at the Italian bistro.
  6. Don't forget to clear out the ships on the dry docks too. They're easy prey.

Step 4: ???

  1. After enjoying your dinner at the Italian bistro reducing both bases to ashes, there should be a swarm of fighters waiting to be taken down. Resupply and switch to your Air-to-Air special weapons if you want to, your EML should be running low by now.
  2. Shoot down as many planes as you can until the timer runs out. That's what they are for, right?

And there you have it, Wiseman is impressed and Long Caster is amazed. There are definitely more efficiet ways to finish this mission, but I love it that way.
