Twinkle Islands

The Twinkle Islands are an Erusean[3] island chain located in the Spring Sea off the western coast of Usea, southwest of the Erusean mainland. Several military engagements have taken place on the islands throughout history.
History
Usean coup d'état
At the beginning of its campaign against the Usean Rebel Forces, the Usean Allied Forces began to move equipment into forward deployment to combat the rebels. On March 20, 1998, a rebel bomber squadron and its escorts were en route to bomb the Allies' frontline base located on one of the islands. Phoenix, flying his first sortie in the war, was deployed to engage the oncoming threat, successfully repelling the attack and allowing the Usean Allied Forces to start turning the tide of the war in their favor.[2][4]
Continental War
On September 26, 2005, the Independent State Allied Forces dispatched a special forces unit and Mobius Squadron to the Twinkle Islands to destroy Megalith, a fortified facility designed to shoot down fragments of the Ulysses 1994XF04 asteroid.[1]
While en route to the islands, Mobius Squadron, led by ISAF ace Mobius 1, engaged the Erusean defense squadron and shot them down after an intense dogfight. Mobius 1 was then able to destroy the facility's power generators and gain access to the central missile silo. He destroyed the ICBM within the silo, igniting a chain reaction that destroyed Megalith from the inside.[1]

- In Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy, the area used for the Twinkle Islands in the first mission is reused in Seagull; the Allied base can be seen there as well.
