Briefing

Listen up! We have a situation on our hands. A major squadron of Belkan bombers has crossed our border and is making its way here, to Valais Air Base. Apparently, they intend to attack our base in an initiative to gain hegemony over the entire Republic of Ustio. Valais Air Base is our country's last line of defense. If our base falls, no one will be left to stop Belka from taking over Ustio. Your mission is to destroy the squad of bombers and defend our base. Belka's invasion must end here.

Mission Script

Opening cutscene

Pixy: It's starting to come down.

Ustio Base Command: This is Base Command. Guess all you boys managed to get up. Galm 1, Galm 2, maintain present course.

Pixy: This is Galm 2. Roger that.

Ustio Base Command: Bearing 315, Belkan bombers approaching.

Pixy: Nobody wants to bail out into a mountain of ice. We're counting on you, flight leader.

Ustio Base Command: All units, prepare to intercept.

Pixy: You'd better have our pay ready and waiting.

Ustio Base Command: That's only if we both make it through this alive.

Pixy: Be ready to pay up. We'll be back before you know it.

Mission Start

Ustio Base Command

Galm Team, shoot down all enemy bombers. Don't let them get to our base.

Galm 2, follow all orders from Galm 1. Free engagement is prohibited during this operation.

Pixy

Roger. Awaiting your orders, Cipher. You're Galm 1 now.

Pixy

(Knight) Cipher, I've heard stories about you. That pride's gonna get you killed, you know.

(Soldier) Cipher, I've heard stories about you. They say you've got what it takes to win.

(Mercenary) Cipher, I've heard stories about you. People say you never let your prey get away.

Ustio Squadron

(Knight) Let's get this job over with and suck up a little hot wine.

(Soldier) Let's make quick work of these suckers and treat ourselves to a little hot whiskey.

(Mercenary) Let's mop 'em up quick and go out for a little hot rum?

If the bombers reach the center of the map

Ustio Control Tower

Enemy bombers have reached the center of operation airspace.

If the bombers approach the southeast corner

Ustio Control Tower

Enemy bombers are advancing through operation airspace. If they reach our base, it's all over.

After all escorts are neutralized or destroyed

Pixy

Base Command. I mopped up those escort planes. Continuing on to enemy bombers.

Ustio Base Command

Roger. We're counting on you.

When approaching a Bm-335

Ustio Squadron

That bomber looks ancient.

When approaching Otto 5

Belkan Bomber

This is Otto 5. IFF is out of commission. Unable to carry out duty. Withdrawing from operation airspace.

Ustio Squadron

One of the bombers has left the battlefront. He must've chickened out.

Pixy

Why would he leave after getting this far?

If the player lets Otto 5 escape

Belkan Bomber

Otto 5 to all planes. I've completely withdrawn from operational airspace.

Ustio Squadron

After destroying two bombers

Ustio Base Command

2nd enemy bomber down. Stay sharp out there!

Pixy

I don't have time for that. It's every man for himself.

Ustio Squadron

Looks like Galm 2 is gonna steal the show again.

Ustio Squadron

Come on, Pixy! Leave a few for us, will ya?

After destroying three bombers

Ustio Control Tower

Third enemy bomber down.

Pixy

I hope they're careful with the bombs when they hit the ground.

Pixy

Looks like we're more than they bargained for.

Ustio Squadron

They're staying in formation. These guys are good.

Belkan Squadron

Nothing was said about this in the mission briefing. Seems like they have a quality pilot within them.

Belkan Squadron

We underestimated them.

Belkan Squadron

Have faith in our escort planes.

Belkan Squadron

Don't worry about it! Just keep flying straight!

Belkan Squadron

I didn't think Ustio still had this caliber of a squadron left.

When one bomber remains

Head back to base if your plane has any problems.

All those too scared to fly should go back to base and wait patiently with their tail between their legs.

Hurry up and shoot down the enemy if you want to get back to base.

No one will find us if we crash out here.

Don't get too greedy now. Just stay focused.

No need to rush. Just take 'em out one at a time.

They don't plan to leave until they've bombed the place.

If you want to turn back, now's the time.

Looks like they wanna finish us off.

I'm gonna come out on top today.

Taking out these guys ought to pretty up my kill score.

Don't get too reckless. Those escort planes will pick you off.

Once we get through this, the base is straight ahead. We've gotta stop them.

They're only Belkans, nothing to get too nervous about!

Those escort planes are well trained. They're not taking the bait.

They'll talk about us for years if we can take these guys out.

Escort planes, back us up. We don't want any fighters on our tails.

Base Command to Galm Team. The enemy attack unit has been successfully intercepted.

Looks like they underestimated Valais Base. I'm sure the Belkans realize that by now, too.

All planes, job well done! You'll be paid well for this.

I'd like to see how those Belkan cowards report back to their superiors.

Cipher, I got a feeling you and me are gonna get along just fine.
