The Storm Squadron is an emergency interception squadron. They are launched on sortie to respond to immediate threats, especially terrorism. Storm Squadron exclusively uses CFA-44 Nosferatus developed by Neucom Incorporated.[1]
Trivia
- AWACS Heavy Cloud and Storm Squadron's names reference each other as well as AWACS Thunderhead, since heavy clouds usually come with thunderstorms.
- Given that Storm Squadron engages worldwide terrorist threats, exclusively uses Neucom CFA-44s, and has Heavy Cloud as their AWACS, it could be inferred that Storm Squadron is part of the United Nations Forces and possibly even Task Force 118. This could also be supported by the text "UNS N.A.ADSN" written on the game domes of Mach Storm, which implies that CVN-30 is an United Nations ship in the story of the game.
