- "I've read the report. We're going up against some mercenary dogs. They're nothing more than lowly hacks compared to us. Lancer Squadron, show them just who rules the skies!"
- ― Albert Wahlberg[1]
The Lancer Squadron was a former Usean Allied Forces unit that defected to coup d'état forces in the Usean coup d'état. The unit was led by Albert Wahlberg.
History
At some early point in the Usean coup d'état, the Lancer Squadron defected to the coup d'état forces that opposed the treaty signing with the Osean government.[2]
The Lancer Squadron had been patrolling the Lambert Mountains since the beginning of the war, shooting down multiple Allied aircraft in the vicinity.[1]
On March 31, 1998, Lancer engaged Phoenix over the mountain range after the latter had shot down a rebel transport unit. Despite Lancer's tactics, the squadron was ultimately defeated.[1]
The fate of the squadron's members after the battle are uncertain.

Trivia
- Lancer Squadron shares numerous similarities with Rot Team from Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War:
- Lancer 1's TAC name is "Pride." Rot 1's TAC name is "Stolz," which means "pride" in German. The Rot Team emblem also features the word "Stolz."
- Both Lancer and Rot look down upon mercenaries, viewing themselves as honorable knights in comparison.
- In Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception, there is an ace by the name of "LANCER" who appears in Firestorm. The ace uses a MiG-1.44.
