Copro[a] is an artificial intelligence that accompanied Mihaly A. Shilage during the Lighthouse War.

Usage

Copro was used aboard Mihaly's Su-30SM and the X-02S Strike Wyvern in place of a co-pilot, operating the crafts' weapons and collecting flight data.[2][3]

It can also be used to convert manned fighters such as the F/A-18F and the Su-35S into autonomous UCAVs. When installed on the F/A-18F, Copro is mounted in place of the pilot's seat, leaving the rear seat empty. Copro-controlled aircraft have two bright light strips running along the bottom of their canopies. These lights glow blue when the drones are in passive mode, but turn red when engaged in combat.

Copro is also utilized on manned versions of the ADF-11F Raven as a flight assistance program. Using the Erusean Air and Space Administration's extensive combat data, Copro reduces the pilot's burden while delivering increased stability and agility.[4]

Etymology

  • Copro is a common Japanese shortening for "coprocessor."[5]
