The Aegis defense system was a high performance Leasathian defense system consisting of powerful SAMs and AA guns.[1]
History
Conception
The Aegis defense was designed as a high-tech defense system for the Nevera Jammer. The SAMs were able to track the target even when an ECM system is active. The AA guns could shoot down incoming bombs and missiles.[1]
Aurelian War
During the Aurelian War, Gryphus One was dispatched after a mid-air refueling operation to destroy the Nevera Jammer. Eugene Solano briefed him on the capabilities of the defense system prior to launching on the sortie.[1]
When Gryphus One had entered the area where the jammer was located, communication with Solano was difficult due to the jamming system. Gryphus One then tracked down and destroyed the stations that supplied power to the Aegis defense system. At this point, the system was now rendered useless and Gryphus One successfully destroyed the Nevera Jammer.[1]
