Stock Variant

The F-104C -Avril- is a DLC aircraft in Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown based on the F-104C Starfighter that Avril Mead helped to restore. Due to its lack of weapons, the F-104C -Avril- can only be flown in Free Flight.[1] It is the second playable aircraft in the Ace Combat franchise to not carry weapons, following the 747 200B in Ace Combat: Joint Assault, and the first playable aircraft to be exclusive to Free Flight.

The F-104C -Avril- is included for free on all digital, Steam, and Nintendo Switch[1] versions of the game, as well as the Strangereal Edition. The standalone purchase of this DLC for physical PlayStation 4 and Xbox One copies is only possible in Japan and Asia for JPY¥100 or regional equivalents.[2][3][4]

"An aircraft based on an F-104C that can be likened to an air-drag racer or even Icarus. Built using parts taken from an aircraft graveyard, it was brought to life by Avril, her grandfather, and her grandfather's war buddies in a process which took eight years. Avril first flew it in the hope of seeing the dark blue sky that her grandfather longed for. Because the aircraft is not fitted with weapons or an IFF (Identification Friend or Foe) system, it can only be used in Free Flight mode."
