The Dynamic Mission System , also known as the Dynamic Operation System,[1] is a groundbreaking feature introduced in Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation.

Functions

The Dynamic Operation System breaks missions down into Operations: minor situations in which the designated leader unit attempts to accomplish an objective under enemy siege. These tasks can be, but are not limited to:

  • Defending the local Electronic Support Measure craft;
  • Taking over a select piece of territory (for example, an overrun AFB); and
  • Eliminating the local enemy radar jamming technology.

After selecting your aircraft, you will be able to choose your starting point. The SP determines which operations you'll begin with.

Supporting allied forces

There will be moments in which a particular team will request an airborne support; AWACS Ghost Eye always announces the condition of the team (i.e. "Dragon Busters have lost 40% of their forces. They can't do this alone." means that the team (in this case, Dragon Busters) is in dire need of an air strike. Too much damage & the operation will be aborted. Whenever you hear a request for reinforcements, head over there quickly. The particular team will be marked by a RED FLASH on the radar, alongside their name. If about 3 operations are aborted, the mission will end in failure.

Once the quota of finished operations is filled (example: 4 out of 6 ops), all friendly forces will join & commence one final operation to finish the local opposition. Once all targets are destroyed, the mission concludes.

The overall ranking in the mission is decided by your ranks on the finished operations. For example, most (if not, all) targets eliminated in a complete operation will award you an S rank.
