Appearances
Like Zipang, DistantThunder's paint scheme became popular, although not as much as Zipang. The paint scheme has made a number of appearances following its inclusion in Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War.
Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War
DistantThunder appears in Heartbreak One after the Mission Update and spawns to the northwest region of the map. Shooting the ace down grants the SP paint scheme of the YA-10B.
Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War
The paint scheme appears as the A-10A Thunderbolt II's "Special" paint scheme. It is unlocked after shooting down the ace Fischer, who appears in Flicker of Hope.
Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation
Once again, the paint scheme is available for the A-10A Thunderbolt, this time as downloadable content.
The paint scheme was released on June 26, 2008 and costs 200 Microsoft points.
Ace Combat Infinity
In Ace Combat Infinity, the DistantThunder paint scheme was available as a separate variant for the A-10A ThunderBolt II, as the "A-10A -Distant Thunder- ".
