Data Viewer refers to the section in the main menu of an Ace Combat game where the player can browse various data in their save file.

History

Names and locations

In some games, player data is not directly accessible from the main menu. Player data in Ace Combat 2 is only available in the campaign menu before a mission; player data in Ace Combat 04: Shattered Skies and Ace Combat Infinity is accessed through a selection in the game's options menu.

Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War made player data available from the main menu, though it is separated into "Flight Data" and "Gallery". Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War introduced the dedicated main menu section for player data; in this game, it shared the same name as the system that determines the player's Ace Style. This section was labeled "Gallery" in Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation and "Player Archive" in Ace Combat: Assault Horizon.

Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception was the first game to use the phrase "Data Viewer", which later appeared in Ace Combat: Joint Assault, Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy, and Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown.
