GrauFalk Squadron
GrauFalk Squadron,[note 2] officially the 4th Squadron,[note 3] was a unit that served in the Belkan Air Force 3rd Air Division and saw action across Area B7R and the Belkan War.
Etymology
"GrauFalk" is German for "gray falcon." In contrast, their Tornado GR.4s have a blue oceanic paint scheme.
History
GrauFalk Squadron's members were 5th Air Division veterans, consisting of pilots Arne Babbel and Maik Baumann. The squadron's earliest movement came in 1992 with Babbel's transfer. Both pilots distinguished themselves in Area B7R,[2] with leader Babbel's addition in ground performance.[1]
The squadron was active during the Belkan War until April 20, 1995, a day that proved to be their final sortie as it engaged and was shot down and killed by Galm Team over B7R.[1][2]
