Dead End
Dead End is the fifteenth mission in Ace Combat 2. It is also the second mission of the Operation "B"ELLISSIMA branch.
Briefing
We have received information that the enemy is assembling their air power in preparation for a counterattack on our invasion forces. We must attack them while they are getting ready to make their sortie, which is right now! We will fly at low altitude below 600 feet[note 2], in order to avoid radar detection. We will make a surprise attack on the enemy before they have a chance to counterattack.
Target: The enemy garrison
It is difficult to maintain low altitude flight, but we must not be detected by the enemy's radar in order to avoid any possible resistance. Take a good look at the lay of the land, and proceed with care!
Objectives
This mission's main objective is to destroy an enemy air base's facility. As stated in the mission briefing, the player should infiltrate the airspace by maintaining a low altitude flight below 656 feet or 200 meters[1] until they reach the destination. The message "ATTACK!" will appear if infiltration is successful, and all aircraft apart from F.F.F. will still remain on the ground, allowing the player to pick them off easily before they can begin takeoff.
If the player aircraft flies too high and is detected prematurely before reaching the base, the message "SPIKE!" will appear, and all aircraft stationed at the base will begin taxiing for takeoff. Moreover, the B-2 bombers, which are key to unlocking Electric Dreams, will also attempt to escape.
Wingman support is not available for this mission.

Rewards
- Completion reward: 35,000 credits
- Unlocks: F-22 (if player shoots down all four F.F.F. on Normal mode) or XFA-27 (if player shoots down down all four F.F.F. on Extra mode)
